Performance & Results

Our reputation for academic excellence alongside our holistic all-round education offering is consistently impressive, and we are so proud of all the work our pupils put in.

BCS Prep

We are immensely proud of our Prep pupils and all they achieve, consistently attaining results above the National Average in Maths and English in external tests. At the Prep School we work on creating a dynamic, inclusive learning environment where every child can reach their full potential by fostering a love for learning and emphasising the development of critical thinking and emotional intelligence. Our commitment to high standards is reflected in the consistently strong academic results our pupils achieve across core subjects. By supporting each pupil’s individual needs, we nurture confident, curious, and resilient learners equipped for future challenges.

*No exams were undertaken due to the pandemic. Calculated assessment grades were awarded for each subject; these are the grades BCS believe students would be most likely to have achieved had exams gone ahead, taking into account a range of evidence including, for example, non-exam assessment and mock results.

Value Added at GCSE and A-Level

At the start of Years 10 and 12, pupils sit a general IQ Baseline test, which is processed by Durham University (http://www.cem.org/). The results will indicate a probable flight path over the two years to GCSE/A Level, and probable outcome. From this, we are able to judge how much value the school adds to the academic potential of pupils over the period. In the last four years BCS has achieved a value-added score which puts us in the top 30% nationally, and top 2.5% at A Level. To consistently add value across our cohort of pupils demonstrates our ability to work with each pupil individually in the Sixth Form.
