Meet Alex, a Year 12 pupil in BCS Sixth Form, studying Maths, Spanish, and English Literature.

Q: Tell us about your experience at BCS?

A: I first joined in Year 2 after moving back from Thailand and stayed until Year 4 before moving back to Thailand. Then, I came back to England and rejoined in Year 5, and I’ve been here ever since. I went through Year 7 all the way to now, in Year 12.

Q: What do you love about BCS?

A: I love the strong sense of community throughout the whole school—everyone really knows each other. Even from Year 7, I can name a few people from helping with futsal with Señor Barrios. It’s just such a strong sense of community.

Q: Have you got friends that you carried on from the Prep School?

A: Up until last year, I had a friend from Year 2 who had been here the whole time. It’s really great.

Q: What about Sixth Form in particular do you really enjoy?

A: I enjoy that the teachers already knew me from last year, which is really helpful. Also, I like how everyone knows each other because it’s a small Sixth Form. The teachers genuinely care about how you're doing and if everything’s alright—they’re always there to help.

Q: Tell us about the career support.

A: I’ve spoken to Mrs. Beng about what I’d like to do after leaving BCS and what career paths I can follow with the A Levels I’ve chosen. I’m looking at a law degree in the future, so I’ll need to work hard to achieve that.

Q: What are you enjoying the most about your lessons?

A: The teachers are always there to help, and they’re really good at what they do. What more can you ask for?
