A: I'm absolutely loving it here! The school has such a close-knit, friendly atmosphere. Everyone knows each other, and it really feels like a community. The smaller size of the Sixth Form actually helps a lot – it’s easier to focus, and getting support in any subject is really straightforward. All the teachers are lovely and always available if you need help.
A: The small class sizes make such a difference. Teachers can give individual attention and are always happy to go over things as many times as needed. They’re approachable, friendly, and always willing to listen. Honestly, it feels more like a family than just a school.
A: I’m currently in the school production of Beauty and the Beast, playing Madame de la Grande Bouche – the wardrobe! She's such an eccentric and excitable character, it’s been a lot of fun. I’m also helping choreograph and lead the dances, which has been an amazing opportunity.
Outside of the production, I help run co-curricular activities like Shakespeare for Schools, where I assist with producing and directing performances for students in Years 7 to 9. I also run Young Voices, where we’ll be taking Year 7 and 8 students to perform at the O2 in London with 8,000 other children – it’s going to be incredible! Performing Arts has opened up so many exciting opportunities for me.
A: I help out with the choir and a few other shows, and I’m always happy to support the Performing Arts team wherever I can – whether that’s with Dance for All, Dance Company, or the school musical club. If someone needs an extra hand, I’m there!
Q: How do you find Sixth Form life overall?
A: It’s a big step up, but in a good way. You’re treated more like an adult, and there’s mutual respect between students and teachers. They trust you to work independently, but you always know support is there if you need it.
Our common room has such a great vibe – we’ll study together, but also take breaks to play card games or Monopoly. It’s a fun, supportive space, and when it’s time to focus, everyone respects that too.
A: I'd love to start a Shakespeare Club for older students, to give them the same creative opportunities the younger years have. I’ve performed in quite a few Shakespeare productions and really enjoy them, so I’d love to share that passion.
I’m also looking forward to more school trips – especially the Performing Arts trip to London, which I’m really excited about!
A: Honestly, I couldn’t recommend it more. BCS has become my safe space – it’s welcoming, supportive, and just a really special place. Everyone respects each other, and there’s always someone to talk to – whether it’s teachers, students, or other staff. It’s a great environment for anyone and everyone.
